Desiring a warming welcome to all CMS parents for this new school year 2009-2010!
I take this great beginning to take the time to introduce myself as the substitute ESL teacher covering for Sofia Udner's (OLC/ESL K,1st, 2nd Grade) maternity leave. My role is to provide strong support working collaboratively with classroom teachers to promote success in content based instruction. This year CMS has implemented a new program for Language Arts (Reading Street by Scott Foresman). It is a complete guided reading program that help teachers to differentiate instruction in order to meet individual needs within the class setting. The moment I push in a classroom, I'm going to assist students and work in concert with the homeroom teacher targeting and reinforcing the strategies, and skills that the ESL students are having difficulty with.
