ELA - We have a new all-encompassing reading system called Reading Street.  We will be reading the following story:

Story:  Letters from Yosemite

Skill and strategy:  Main idea and author's purpose.

Grammar: Compound Sentences Types of Sentences: Compound Sentences and Clauses and Complex Sentences

Writing: Memoirs / Postcards

Math -   Unit 3, Multiplication and algebraic equations.                                       

*Science - The Earth's crust and inside the Earth.

Volcanoes and earthquakes.

*Social Studies - Small group study of a European explorer.

*Much of our Science and Social Studies curriculum is now covered  and connected in Reading Street.

Please see the class schedule which is attached below.  As it is early in the year, this is a tentative schedule and is subject to change.  As our new language program also teaches some science and social studies, ELA might sometimes replace some of these periods.
