Week of Dec. 1 - Dec. 5
This week we will be reading the play "Johnny Appleseed". It tells the legend of John Chapman, an American pioneer who planted many apple trees across the early frontier so that frontier families would have apples to eat.
The new vocabulary words for this play are: frontier, nearby, orchards, survive, wild, tame . These words can be found in their red notebook. On Fridays the children will have a test and they should know the meaning of these words.
The spelling words for this week are the following: pioneers, cheers, clearing, hear, nearby, year, beard, reindeer, steer, peer, remark, alarm, sleep. country, rain. These words can be found in their orange notebook and on Fridays they will have a test and should know how to spell them.
On Social Studies we will be talking about traditions and how holidays are celebrated around the world. |

P.E. Days will be days 2,4,and 6. I sent home our 2DJ calendar of events for the month of October. In it you will find our P.E. days; follow it so that you have no confussion regarding uniforms.
